GUEST DESIGNER at DE-STEMPELWINKEL DAY #7 http://destempelwinkeldesignteam.blogspot.co.uk/

Well this is my last but one project for DE-STEMPELWINKEL..... and i got down and got dirty....boy oh boy did i get dirty! I adore using paint.... and this used lots of it....and loads of little brads...and mirri...yes i did say mirri...card.
I painted a wooden box, inside and out with dark brown paint. I used Tim Holtz texture plates (riveted metal) and Gadget Gears die on silver card. I glued this to the box using a strong glue and sanded the edges.

Once dry I painted it all over with dark brown acrylic paint.... more drying time... then I dabbed it all over with medium brown, orange and a small amount of black paint.

Once completely dry I gently sanded it over to show some of the silver card. I used brads to look like rivets. I painted the "gears" the same way and used one to frame the man's face. More brads, and cracked embossing finished my shabby rusty box.
I shall enter this box into the following challenges.....

SMUDGY ANTICS http://smudgyantics.blogspot.co.uk/

This week's challenge theme is:
"FULL MOON MADNESS".

Many people think the mystical powers of the full moon are capable of inducing erratic behaviors.  It has been argued that there is an increase in arguments, fights, psychiatric hospital admissions, crime rates, homicides, emergency room calls, accidents, etc.  Ask any nurse, police officer, teacher or anyone that deals with the public on a regular basis and he or she will testify that there is truth to Full Moon Madness.  If the full moon can affect regular humans in bizarre ways, don't forget about its affect on Lycanthropes!  That would be a horrible, possibly deadly, mistake!

Are you a believer or a skeptic?  What represents Full Moon Madness to you?  As always, feel free to let your artistic expression fly freely.

You do not need to make a card for this challenge.
We also accept and encourage art journal pages, scrapbook pages, mixed-media pieces, sculptures, ATCs, Fat Book pages, jewelry, etc.  Just remember to use at least one stamped image(rubber, clear, or digi) and follow the rules listed on the left sidebar to qualify for the prize or the coveted "Top Three" badge.
I went a little mad myself and forgot the madness bit....but all of the creatures i used are a little strange so maybe i just used artistic licence.
I made a MATCHBOOK.....using ATCS...... i've been wanting to do one for a while and hope that some other folks might want to swap so i'll be listing MATCHBOOK SWAP on the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM in the next day or two...... :) I'll just show you 4 pictures although there are many more....
All of the images are from SMEARED INK....CREATURE FEATURE. I kept them simple black white grey and yellow promarkers to colour. The moon/clouds is a CHERRY PIE stamp..... and loads of black in to distress the edges. The match book is very easy to make and a template will be available on the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM for the swap.( click on the freak show flashing logo to check out the forum!) I hope you'll join us this week...... you dont have to go mad...just use a FULL MOON like i did!

De-stempelwinkel Guest designer piece.

Today i have another of the 8 pieces i have made as Guest Designer at DE-STEMPELWINKEL http://destempelwinkeldesignteam.blogspot.co.uk/ .
This is an 8x8 inch canvas. All the lovely ladies are from ....you guessed it...DE-STEMPELWINKEL.
You can check out the designer blog and the shop by clicking the link above.

The canvas is painted pale blue, then a coat of PVA glue. Whilst the glue was still wet I dragged dark blue, mint green and yellow over the top and allowed it to dry naturally. I used a piece of canvas and did the same thing, except once I had dragged the colours over the glue I dried it with my heat gun. You get bubbles and wonderful texture. Cut it into squares, then stamped the women onto tissue paper, coloured them with pro-markers, tore them out and Mod Podged them to my squares. I used small brads to fix the squares to the canvas.
I'd like to enter this canvas into the following challenges.

De-stempelwinkel Guest Designer http://destempelwinkeldesignteam.blogspot.co.uk/?zx=cda30f425277ca57

Today i have another piece to share with you that i made as part of my month long adventure as guest designer at DE-STEMPELWINKEL.
I really think he's rather cute..... i brought a china bird from a pound store...sanded it down.... gave it a couple of coats of cream paint. I stamped lots of cogs , gears and watch innards (all from DE-STEMPELWINKEL of cause) onto tissue paper.... used gesso to decoupage them onto my birdie. Once dry i painted around them so no seams to be seen. Then finally i coloured in the cogs etc with promarkers.... shades of blue and brown so some of the cogs looked rusty.
I glued on some small watch parts for his eyes and on some of the cogs....just because i wanted too!...and it adds texture which i like. Hes sitting on another Guest piece i have made but what it is you wont find out til next week...but its brown and rusty looking!
I'll enter the following challenges.....

SMUDGY ANTICS and MACABRE MONDAY

Well as it Monday and the start of another week i have two new challenges to share with you today, but only one project.

This week's challenge theme at SMUDGY ANTICS is:
"PRETTY CREEPY".
We want you devoted followers to use a dark, Gothic, or creepy image and make a prettybeautiful, classy, or elegant project with it.

We love when you guys and gals think outside of the box.
The more creative and inventive, the better!
Let your artistic expression fly free!

and at MACABRE MONDAY http://haunteddesignhouse.blogspot.co.uk/

"Eerie Elegance"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that depicts elegance in it's most strangest of forms.
You know the style we're talking about. That strange and bizarre, yet
captivating and intriguing bit of oddness. Classy, but not really
fit for human consumption. Yeah, that's it.

So heres my offering..... this is as elegant as i get! Beautiful 'death cab' image from SMEARED INK.... Black, white and silver. Die cuts, punches, ribbon, feathers, gems, and the dreaded glitter card stock. Ribbon flowers, metal flowers....  a lovely metal 'always' mesh....and loads of black ink.

Heres a close up..... its all so dark but it looks pretty good in real life..... i hope you'll join us..... for both of these challenges.... i piece will fit both!

QUOTH THE RAVEN http://poequoththeraven.blogspot.co.uk/

QUEST #10
How now, my creatures of the dark - I offer thee this time a cautionary tale. Let thee not think that man be the only creature that hath the wherewithall to learn and then act upon that knowledge - albeit with behaviour that we would not expect nor which may be acceptable to ourselves. !
Such is the case with the poor creature in my tale this time -
                                                      MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE
A sailor keeps as a pet, a large Ape - a creature not much far removed from the likes of thee and I. Unbeknownst to him, his daily actions have been acutely observed and absorbed - albeit their purpose not fully comprehended.
Alas - upon the subsequent escape and new found freedom of the aforesaid - it doth attempt to re-enact that behaviour it hath previously assimilated - but with dire consequences. !!
The works of the Master regarding this tale can be found in entirety HERE.

Now that thy mind is acquainted with the tale, thy task is to create a masterpiece which doth it illustrate, by whichever form that doth please thee.

Think on then of the next occasion thou art studiously observed by thy beloved Furry Friends as thou art involved in some task, and be thankful that they hath not the opposable thumbs !!! Bwaahahahahahahaha !

I went for the monochrome look.....  the old newspaper type headlines.....as this was a story that was ground breaking...the 1st of its kind..... the 1st of the detective stories.
My piece is cut n paste.... some pieces i have stamped over... and inked the edges, but basically its just a collage.... quick easy and fun!
I hope you'll join us this fortnight.... we have an awesome sponsor.... our own IKE.
Keep safe thanks for visiting BDx

DRAGONS DREAM T.I.O http://dragon-dragonsdream.blogspot.co.uk/

Today it is the turn of my teamie, Gabrielle to choose the recipe for this fortnight's Dragons Dream Tag It On and she has  chosen, INDUSTRIAL CHIC.... her 3 elements are, CLOCKWORK/COGS, VINTAGE BROWN, and INDUSTRIAL IMAGERY....with the only other rules being... it must have a real STAMP on it, and it has  to be a TAG.... EASY HEY?

Here is my take on the theme.... now blogger has finally allowed me access to my blog....
I used TH embossing folders/dies....brown and orange paint to do a faux rust look..... TH distress embossing powders mixed with a bit of gold and copper powders.... brown ink... an image from DE-STEMPELWINKEL.....some chain and a small watch charm.....oh and some diddy screw head brads...
Heres a close up as its hard to see the texture of the faux rust..... but it does look pretty good in real life.... honest! I hope you'll join us.... i really do like all this industrial/steampunk/grungy stuff....
I'll enter the following challenges....
http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.ca/ ANYTHING GOES + COLOUR MEDIUM
http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.co.uk/ FAVOURITE TH TECHNIQUE.... love his distress embossing... and inking..... which i've tried to do here.

De STEMPELWINKEL Guest designer Day#3

Well as i'm sure you know i am the worst card maker in the whole of blogland, but i wanted all my guest DT pieces to be different so i thought i'd better make a card or 3. I kept them simple.... i cut myself templates...ok holes in card stock...to stamp and mask my images through.....i love the look of Kraft card stock...vintage without the mess of inking it!
I have coloured my images with pencils just to give them a little depth....and used black and sepia ink to make the images stand out better.
The ladies card has real dried flowers on it and pretty ribbon.....
These two mens cards have diecut cogs on that i made look rusty with paint..... both of these sentiments are Tim Holtz.

I shall enter these cards into the following challenges.....

I have used the wicked SMEARED INK digi image from ANATOMY 101..... each of these dimentional skulls are 6x layers... fussy cut...layered up with silicon and dipped in my melting pot. The one below was made for one of my twins...my little goth girl....it colour matches a lacy layered skirt she has..... she looked lovely with her chain laced gloves....striped over knee socks and SKULL FASCINATOR..... she isnt 7 for another 3 weeks..... i wonder what she'll be like when a teenager?
This one is being modelled by the other of my twins.... my pink princess.... it took a lot of bribery..... she wanted to show off the purple one but it wasnt dry....and we were running behind for time.
This is the 3 fascinators together..... including the purple one!

I have been making a few pieces of skull jewellery a few bits pictured here..... as part of this blog hop i'll be giving away a 'piece' of your choice from my 'TRINKETS AND MORE BLOG' the link is on my side bar.

JUNE'S GUEST DESIGNER AT DE-STEMPELWINKEL.http://destempelwinkeldesignteam.blogspot.co.uk

I have the great honour of having been asked to be the guest designer again for de-Stempelwinkel. I should have posted this piece yesterday but i spent the day 'on the road' and by the time i got to try out this dongle thingy it was really late and, i was more brain dead than usual. I used the wonderful Sherlock Holmes plate to make an 8''x10'' homage to Holmes shadowbox type of thing.
The union jack background is a reused and distress gift bag..... and the ATC (top picture, is the gift tag.... waste not want not...my Nan used to say!) The pipe( pic below) has been altered with a stamped image of Sherlock each side. If you have time please go and check out the designers blog.... they'd love to show you more projects with Jetske's wonderful stamps.
I'd like to enter this into the following challenges,
Thanks for visiting see you tomorrow for the huge SMEARED AND SMUDGED SKULL APPRECIATION DAY BLOG HOP.
